Baked Fries

Hi everyone! This week I have a side dish recipe. This is a first for this blog and maybe I'll start posting more side dishes. I found this recipe in this book, Extra Lean: The Fat-Burning Plan That Changes the Way You Eat for Life. I bought this book in order to help my husband and I figure out the way that we should eat. It kind of worked for us, but we really did not stick to it. Instead, I kept the book because it had a few good recipes. The dish we are going to cook up today is Baked Fries. This is a healthier alternative to the good ole french fries, but they still taste just as good or even better. So let's hop into my kitchen and get started!

Step-by-Step Photos

Gather ingredients and cookware.

Preheat oven to 400F.

Slice potatoes into about 1/4 inch slices.

Then slice each potato slice into thin strips and cut those in half, too.

Spray your baking sheet with cooking spray.

In the medium bowl, mix together the potatoes, 1 tablespoon olive oil, and season with pepper and seasoning salt.

Place potatoes on baking sheet in one single layer.

Bake for 18 minutes, flip fries over if needed, and bake for another 18 minutes.

Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauces. Enjoy!

Hopefully you found this recipe helpful and found a new side dish to try out this week. My husband and I seriously love these fries especially since I've stopped burning and mutilating the poor potatoes! If you try this  recipe out, let me know how it turns out. Comments, suggestions, and questions are always welcomed in the comments below!

What are your family's favorite side dishes?

    1. They are extremely yummy! Another tip I recently learned about is soaking the potatoes for about 30 minutes in water before baking them. This allows the starch to come out and makes the fries even crispier! I've actually already stopped by your blog from another link party, but checked out your link from Show & Share and loved it! Thanks for stopping by and have a great rest of the week :)
